It’s amazing that no one has thought to do this previously, but a research paper published last week reports on the areas of the brain that light up when the vagina, clitoris and nipples of women are self stimulated.
This mapping of brain area to body part was done with men in the 1960′s but for some reason no one has thought to do this with women’s naughty bits for 50 years.
The interesting things that researchers found ‘hard’ evidence for: that vaginal stimulation lights up a different region than clitoral stimulation, thus putting to rest the notion that vaginal pleasure was felt because of indirect stimulation of the clitoris during intercourse.
And they found that in some women, the nipples activated the same region of the brain as “the genital area.” This is kind of a surprise because the nipples are located in the chest area and that should be the part of the brain that lights up. But then, we all knew that nipple were connected to nethers.
Medical research still tends to use males as the model of the human body.

In the Why-Didn’t-I-Think-of-This column today, the FDA has approved a new $300 vibrator, that looks like a c-clamp, for treatment of erectile dysfunction. Or, you could just buy two regular little vibrators for $10 each and hold one on either side of your dick.
So you run this thing on your dick for a few minutes before the act, and it stimulates nerves which allow blood to flow into your penis. Seems like it should work. And it also seems ridiculous to charge $300 for a $50 sex toy. Now if it could suck like my girlfriend then it might be worth $300.
I ran across another electronic sexual gizmo while I was looking at this one. The Slightest Touch is marketed to women, but their product info states that it will work for men as well, and it retails for $99.
The folks who developed this one say they were looking for a way to do electronic acupuncture when they found that their subjects were reporting extreme sexual pleasure from the devices. Orgasmatron! (Woody Allen movie reference – Sleeper). So they started marketing it. I found some comments by women who have tried it on a forum (googled for “does slightest touch work”) and it got mixed reviews. Some women said they couldn’t tell that it did anything at all, some women who were ahhh…pre-orgasmic…said that it made all the difference in the world.
Love to hear your thoughts on these products.

I always find it fascinating what artists can do with the human body as a 3 dimensional canvas. It doesn’t hurt my level of fascination that this canvas is so often a beautiful girl.
This design reminds me of Mozart. Perhaps it’s just the time period the motifs come from, and the white hair, but clearly Mozart.
