It’s All in Her Head – Sex, That Is

It’s amazing that no one has thought to do this previously, but a research paper published last week reports on the areas of the brain that light up when the vagina, clitoris and nipples of women are self stimulated.

This mapping of brain area to body part was done with men in the 1960′s but for some reason no one has thought to do this with women’s naughty bits for 50 years.

The interesting things that researchers found ‘hard’ evidence for: that vaginal stimulation lights up a different region than clitoral stimulation, thus putting to rest the notion that vaginal pleasure was felt because of indirect stimulation of the clitoris during intercourse.

And they found that in some women, the nipples activated the same region of the brain as “the genital area.” This is kind of a surprise because the nipples are located in the chest area and that should be the part of the brain that lights up. But then, we all knew that nipple were connected to nethers.

Medical research still tends to use males as the model of the human body.
